As I said, I'm not exactly sure about whether the 6A13TT has hydraulic tappets or mechanical ones. I'm sure bennoz will chime in soon to correct me
If they're mechanically adjusted, it's not a hard job to adjust them, but it's an absolute prick to get at them all.
there the same as an FTO so that would make them hydrolic, but yea i think just gota wait till ben shines some light on this one..dams it wished i lived in sydney...could have enticed ben to come over already with some beer heheh...im even havin trouble finding piston ring set for the engine :s..not looking good..
ok so this is the evil stuff i used, ive written to Nulon about their product and told them its a piece of sh*t too...what is this suburu stuff you speak of my friend ??
"If its the same stuff the Subbie guys use, its evil with our motors!
I know that we looked into it, but our friendly then mitsi parts person at the same dealership as the subbies, said that it can cause compression issues from cleaning something do with the valves, causing the valves not to seal.
Did you get it to smoke after spraying it into the engine? "
this is what one of the guys on the legnum/vr4 forum said...is it true?? 0.o can the seals be cleaned/how?
hey guys thanks for the advice, i decided to rebuild the engine with forgies...found out the rings were stuck closed and werent closing against the cylinder walls ...stupid foam crap did the job too well
Not gonna try and convince you otherwise, but just sayin - unless your rings are on their way out/fucked and follow all instructions properly you should be fine.
I totally agree with astron - something else as well as the cleaner was at fault/play here
hey taz, i do a compression test each time i do a service..and the copression was reading on average 170psi each cylinder,
so the lesson ive learnt out of this is. That these products do work and clean your intake but take all that rubbish into your cylinders, you have to remember you do get alittle blow by which is where all that cleaned gunk is gonna go ...my advice take your plenum and tb off and clean it ...
