180 km/h speedo
Is it possible to modify the speedo on the FTO cluster?
ie. add numbers for it to reach say 240 km/h continueing the same space intervals as the previous speed numbers?
If so, how accurate would this be?

now thats out of the way...
maybe you could get a speedo off a car that has a speedo that reaches 240kph?
on second thought maybe not as the dash is all electronic...
hmmm
maybe in NZ but in aust we have both unristricted and some hyways are 110.
then theres also the track

the dial kits for sale through the FTO Shop come with a 180mph speedo (with kph) inserts (about 148.00 including shipping)... i can supply a delimiter / converter that you can install ... this isn't available normally through the shop but can be purchased for about $280.00... whilst this sounds expensive consider this...
to get the speedo manually recalibrated is about 300.00
purchase a APEXi RSM (speed delimter) 400.00
if you can't install it yourself 200.00
so say around 700.00 to do it that way...
for around 450.00 you can do it all yourself.

I already have an RSM meter, and I hate the mph readout.
Like someone said, 180km/h just looks bad plus I am sure I will be going over 200 quite a few times
Plus I wasn't talking about recalibrating the speedo.
If people here travel over 180 km/h in their FTO, does the speedo just stop at 180 while the car is still accelerating or does the speedo still keep going?

I don't have the 180 km/h restrictrion (RSM Meter took it off).
If the needle keeps going, then say if every 20km/h interval on the speedo is about 1 cm apart, couldn'e I just get the speedo to show 200 1 cm after 180, and 220 1 cm after 200, and 240 1 cm after 220?
Or would this be not accurate enough and is a waste of time?

Smorison -
What do you mean
"you're not going to draw on extra's are you???"
Also, I have a lancer not FTO, with FTO MIVEC engine and I have the FTO cluster instead of the lancer one, and I have no "good" place to put the RSM meter where I can actually have a clear view of it.
Once again car is not limited anymore.
And no gauges... it's not a racing car... (though I wouldn't mind some oil pressure and temp gauges to know what's going on but I looks not so good
