its a tapping noise.
during startup usually.
if you dont notice it, or need to ask you obviously dont suffer from the noise.

I have tappet noise too.....
but i think the engine revs harder to cool down the engine.
however i wonder if the tappet noise affects engine performance

MIVEC engines: solid (manual adjusted) tappets
Non-MIVEC engines: hydraulic (self adjusting) tappets

What is the purpose of that Tappets anyway?
What is the purpose of the valve rocker or something like that?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that they work to push down the lobes on your cam shafts as the car runs, which in turn operate the valves on your engine

the lifters dont come in contact with the cam lobes.
A basic description where they are in the engine, is camshaft, on each lobe there is a rocker arm. one side is the lifter, the other is a valve.
