Post by RT »

Hey Guys,

How can you tell if you've got Tappets noises...? Does it sounds like a truck? or somthing? If you've got Tappets problem, would the sound of the engine grows louder? My car sound like it has been running non stop at Le Mans 24 Hour Race. Need help.

its a tapping noise.

during startup usually.

if you dont notice it, or need to ask you obviously dont suffer from the noise.

I have tappet noise too.....

but i think the engine revs harder to cool down the engine.

Im actually going to give em a call today to book it in so if you want to wait i can give you an idea of price ect.

MIVEC engines: solid (manual adjusted) tappets
Non-MIVEC engines: hydraulic (self adjusting) tappets

What is the purpose of that Tappets anyway?
What is the purpose of the valve rocker or something like that?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that they work to push down the lobes on your cam shafts as the car runs, which in turn operate the valves on your engine :?:

the lifters dont come in contact with the cam lobes.

A basic description where they are in the engine, is camshaft, on each lobe there is a rocker arm. one side is the lifter, the other is a valve.
