yea no problem will do, the heads are currently getting some work done to them. As soon as i get them back will take some measurements.Black_FTOGPX wrote:Danny you have a set of mivec heads and a 6A13 block don’t you?
Any chance of doing some measurements?
I will also measure the 6a13 heads and block.
I suggest you get a large bit of playdo and place it on your inlet runners of the inlet manifold as that is the part that hits the bonnett, as what you need to figure out is how much space you got between the manifold and the bonnett on a stock FTO
dont forget the GST, import duty, quarintine inspection fee, shipping and custom brokers fee.HRD2BQT wrote:do they have many in stock>>??Black_FTOGPX wrote:I priced up a 6A13 block and it's looks like the cheapest place is NZ, they wanted $1500 for a Complete 6A13 Na SOHC engine or $750 for just the the block.

Could you tell me what the distance is between the bonnett and the inlet manifold runners

there is a 19mm differance between the 6A12 block and 6A13 block.
My heads are being done by a mate at a good price, so they are a job that will get done when he hasnt got much work on.
so could be awhile yet.
I did some reading through the manuals and the measurements they quote in there are almost identical for the 6A13 head and the mivec heads.

having said that though', there's really not much point in having an 8000rpm redline with the MIVEC head when the 6A13 crank/internals were never designed to rev so high, would it?
(although theoretically you could alter the MIVEC activation point lower and run lower RPM ceiling but whether there would be any mid to top-end gains from this is anyone's guess at this stage)
