pop out from the front... i just wrapped a screwdriver in a towel and gently levered it out - be careful not to snap them or dint your car... mine came out quite easily.

You seem to be very handy with chrome jerome.... lol.. that rhymed... lol... anyway, thought of making some clear tail lights? If you made up a nice set for like $700 you'd sell a heap...
or chrome dash surround etc...
Taillights are a big job and i will probably end up making only a few sets if i do them and end up charging a lot but have a nice unique design. The surround is on its way...On the last cruise did you see how i had no dash surround in

I did this research couple of times,
Once when I decided to remove the side indicators totally, and second one recently 2 weeks ago.
In VIC the side indicator plastic covers need to be homogeneously structured, and there are few more rules around the visibility.
I translate this means not covered with any letters.

But again, it looks good
Fair enough...well then i'm not sure on how legal they are but i'll do a bit of searching myself. Anyway i don't think they will be a problem and you could always switch them to stock for a bit if you need to. Also i had my dodgy looking painted ones on for a year and a half and got pulled over and checked by the cops and they didn't say anything.

The standard ones have a clip that you can pop out from through the hole between the front fenders when the door is open. Its easy to do with a long screwdriver or something.
My ones push in then twist into place.

Yeah i'll make up a new lense for it tomorro as the F has a tag on the back that goes through the lense to hold it on better.

So have we decided on whether they're legal or not yet? This would be important coz they stick out like a sore thumb. :?

From what i've read on Australian design rules and motor vehicle regulation information i could find i think the two main things they need are to flash amber and to be seen from different angles. I haven't found anything on lenses and things on top of lenses. And some cars i've seen don't even have side repeaters (vans and old ford lasers).

mxysxy where did u get your info as i've rung the transport department here in qld and they can't tell me anything.

    Heres pics without the F.

i'll be making another lense with a mitsubishi logo in the middle (a FTOOC member's idea) if anyones interested in that.

And when i start making them i will make them larger so they fill the recess better and i should have my anodizing setup going so i'll be able to make them whatever colours you like to suit different cars.

my car's red so i think this is too shinny/too bling for it :(

yeah they might suit you but they prolly wont suit my car that well (still better than the stock ones, but) it would be good to have that option, i have a fetish with simple looking and yet different things. lol

They look really good! Especially the one's with the "F" but they would be such a magnet for theives!

Is there actually a lens covering the housing? I cant make it out in the pics.

If there is a lens, would it fit the standard housing and would you sell them separately?

You could just get the ones without the F and paint straight onto the lense.
Also as i said before i'm going to start up anodizing so i'll be able to make them whatever colour you like(a shiny red finish might suit well). I'm just not sure how or if it will work on cast aluminium, but i'll find out before i start making these.
sublime19 wrote:When can we get these? I'll pay u asap I just want them
I'll do them straight after i finish the order of seatbelt guides for the FTOOC and a few other things like doorcups...Hopefully next month

I'll post up pics of it with the mitsi logo tomorro.

    Night Pics as it flashes.
    Image
What do you mean by change the bulb colour? You change them the same as stock bulbs...these use the same bulb holder. All pics are with stock clear bulbs. You could always buy those crystal amber bulbs that look silver and flash amber if the stock bulbs aren't orange enough for you, but you'll me suprised how orange the stock clear ones are.

I guess they would be the same as badges on other cars, but because they sit in the recess they are pretty hard to get off.

Yes theres a clear lense...it is slightly bigger than the stock lenses and no i won't sell them seperately sorry.
BorepYano wrote:btw so what is the actual price for these?
Around $150 but i'll probably put different prices on ones with different options say higher with ones with F's and Mitsi logos and lower for plain lenses and hopefully offer different colours and finishes. I'll set a price and post pics of each different option after i've done the other stuff i have to do.
