New style clear side repeaters(indicators) with pics

Post by umm »

Since everyone seems to be going on about clear side repeaters at the moment i thought i'd make up these for another option to the normal ones. I was planning to start selling them later on as i don't have time to make them just yet but heres a preview.

I'll post pics of them on my car tomorrow.
Any input/changes you'd like would be appreciated because i won't be making them for a month or so and i'll play with different designs until then.

They look great. Definitely interested. Question - are they legal with the F on them (it looks like the light wouldnt shine through).

Nah that was just painted orange ones but i've painted them a few times and the paint either cracks, fades or peels off in a few days and looks really home made. And clear coating chrome paint makes it look grey so i made these aluminium ones.

    not legal
    Why wouldn't they be legal????
The light shines through even better than the stock ones as the polished alloy reflects the light. This picture was was taken during the day...imagine at night.

Mate i have to say, on a silver FTO, it looks dam hot. :D The polish metal blended in very well with the silver.

If i still have my FTO, i get a pair off you now.

Id be up for a pair too..
You seem to be very handy with chrome jerome.... lol.. that rhymed... lol... anyway, thought of making some clear tail lights? If you made up a nice set for like $700 you'd sell a heap...
    or chrome dash surround etc...

    It looks great, no problems,

I did this research couple of times,
Once when I decided to remove the side indicators totally, and second one recently 2 weeks ago.
In VIC the side indicator plastic covers need to be homogeneously structured, and there are few more rules around the visibility.
I translate this means not covered with any letters.

    But again, it looks good
