That's just an estimate............

You may even get the engine cheaper depending on where you look. :D

Lee will do you a really good price for putting the engine in as well.........even ask Kev.......

$800?!? 8O  Whatever drugs yr on mate, giv me some

a good mivec engine will cost u around mid $2K than about $800 to engine taken and new engine put in. So yr looking at approx $3K - $3.5K all up. Engine rebuild will be a slightly more expensive but then u know its gonna last longer than a second hand engine.

Ok i just got a call from Alex, cycliner 3 is not working, so this could be a bend or broken valve. :(

broken valve means yr top head needs a rebuild, meaning u have to get yr bottom end checked out as well, which also generally means a semi rebuild there.
So u got 2 options, 2nd hand engine or rebuild the one u have now. Find out prices and see the difference. If there is only a small difference in price with the 2nd hand engine and the rebuild than go for the rebuild.
Make sure if u go with a 2nd hand engine that it has a 6 month warranty on it.

hey guys...the problem is almost coming to an end.....we hope to know what is happening by tonight....

question:
2. One of the Cam was out before he started to work on your car, so that’s why he suggested to change the timing belt since his already changing the spark plugs & adjusting the tappet.

could the Cam get out of place from driving around ?

how does a Cam get out of place ????

thanks

yeh but if it was out before he got there (and he said the car had no symptoms or major problems).... and then the car has started having all these issues..... obviosuly something has happened in the time he has dropped the car off and then when work has begun.....

Funny you said that, it happen to me before, the car just stopped at the middle of a bridge & it just roll back. 8O It was running fine & no warning sign what so ever before that. Lucky for me nothing else happen only the timing was out.

According to Alex, only one of the cam was out of timing. So mate since i'm not a mechanic, i wouldn't know what can that do, or can you still able to drive it like normal while its out. Maybe Dannyboyau can tell us all about it.
