Hey lenny,
the beep should come on when your keys are left in the ignition( off position) and the door is open, when youve left your lights on and also when your reversing. Some people cut the diode in the circuit to stop the beep beep noise when reversing(sounds like a truck inside). To see the circuit better check this link it may help u some what if not at least i tried

Sorry guys that info is totally awesome but I can't seem to piece that together with anything in my engine bay or fuse box. That stuff about the wire pins and colours might as well have read.......

Attached behind the interior fuse box is a simple black plastic box, in that box you'll find the circuit board you need.

FTo's are put together well and come apart without much stress. 2 screws and youve got the stereo out. my carolla was 12 screws and 3 panels (poo)
