yes fulda.... only sold by Bob Jane.

No one seems to know much about them.... basically bob jane struck a deal with them so that they had exclusive rights to selling them...

Therefore bob jane promote them as a very good tyre. IF you ask other tyre companies they either say "dont know much about them" or... they are just used as a selling point.

Having said that they may be good, probably just marked up a lot. Maybe look through wheels magazines for reviews?

i considered them but for the cash settled on well known/reported brand.

well, i really really (accidently) tested out my goodyears today!

driving down toorak rd in melb, i turned to look at a truck that had pulled over, wasnt speeding (about 50pkh?) and when i turned back to the road, the car in front had stopped... I reckon i had about 5 metres to stop.....

there was no way i thought i would in time... but my tyres gripped, smoked, and i stopped no less then about 10cms away from the rear end of a commodore! my face almost pressed against the steering wheel

although it was totally my fault, and i wasnt concentrating on the road, i am glad i spent a bit more on tyres - as if another tyre had of stopped me 50cm later i would have caused a fair amount of damage and been at fault! guess there is 2 lessons..... buy good tyres and concentrate on the road in front!

I was just wondering what would be the widest tyre size you could get under the front of the fto without causing any problems?
If I could I'd put a pic here i've tried but i can't!

Yeah i think there was a review on that brand of tyres in one of the issue of Motor mag, from memory it wasn't impressive though.

Guys, i'm in the market for some tyres, so this is what i got so far.

> Bridgstone G3's (270)
> Yoko's E100's (300)
> Toyo Proxes T1R ( ~300 )

> Any Others?

Ive had es100's and GIII's

id say es100's have more grip overall, but GIII's are quiter and better in the wet.

i dont know about mileage yet.... but they both wear pretty similar.

ive heard good things about the toyo t1r, id prolly pick es100 or t1r for grip reasons.

a lot of people used the Brigestone Potenza gIII and they are well reviewed.

I have Eagle f1 gds3 and they have been great as well (apparently the previous model were not so good)

There is a good tyre review site i think it is www.tirerack.com - had heaps of reviews and tyre testing in the states.

I haven't had much experience with diferent tyre's but I bought a set of FM901's for my turbo lancer when I had it.

Being FWD turbo, it was difficult enough to launch as it was. When I sold the car I got a set of michelins put on and could notice that it was heaps harder to lauch right away... it would just screech, torque steer and basically bog down.

Moral is I like FM901's and will get a set for the FTO when the current set are worn.

I don't know about over there, but over here the FM901 range has been mostly replaced by the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 (I think there are some sizes in which you can still get FM901s). I've had both on my VR-4, and the DZ101 was just as good...

I currently have GIII's on the front of my FTO, and I find them good but a bit noisy ... or maybe it's just the sound deadening that my car is supposedly missing.

i noticed a few people had sumitomo.

i had never heard of them honestly, but they came brand new with the car, they are 215/45ZR 17" . ive done about 25000 with them and i drive pretty hard, but they seem to have HEAPS of grip still. they are not bad tires, could be better in the wet. although i have noticed that they will begin to squeel way before the threshold is up in the dry.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed. :-)

Had mine for a while now and they just keep getting better, have done a few of the Targa Tassie stages and they have been great.

Very good in the wet as well.

omg.... my tyres are bloody awsome.... haven't even pushed my car hard at all, and already... sooo goooood...

they just grip, and grip even more when u think they are at their limit, and my braking distance/time has probably decreased by like 30% +
