be careful when comparing MIVEC and NON-MIVEC results... apart from the fact that the engines are different, the MIVEC was tuned further by Mitsubishi to get as much out of it as possible.

i would expect to see greater gains on the GR's when adding a piggyback ECU.

Can i actually tune e car using unichip and making it : -
1) run more economically at low revs (w/o losing too much power) and
2) tune it more responsively at higher revs to extract more power ??

they're very good and the right price.

I've read a while back that these Perfect Power mob are base in South Africa, I did saw them at firespot for $300 at one stage (2nd hand of course).

Hey steve have you got any dyno result on rob's car, like before & after installation, & it would be good to see how much benifit this unit can do by itself without the aid of another modifications. As I gain 10kwatw with SAFC, but we all know theres no way in hell that it can pull that much kwatw without other mod.

rob's figures were about 10kwatw on the first tune like 18months ago but it was dangerously lean... with a few other mods for the intake / tb / plenum and a re-tune i think he got upto around 20-25kwatw all up... (including the original 10)

the units themselves are about 800 ? i think... have 128 map load points and imho are as good as the microtechs without the price tag... they are south african and their customer serivce so far has been great...

Yep - SMT6 was the old one, now they've got the SMT7. It does boost as well.

I imagine it would work with the hybrid you mention. It has all the variables required. Not just anyone can put it in - speak to Jim at Autotech Performance in Marrickville on 02 9557-4000. He'd be able to sort you. Autotech are a qualified rep for perfect power
