Body kit bumper
I bought a basic fibre glass kit cause i split my front bumper
would i need anything else than the fibre glass kit + sandpaper and paint.
Im guessing id need to sand it back so the fibre glass can stick to it, then sand it back after it goes hard till its smooth, then paint it again.

Yup, sand it back a little, lay the fibreglass and resin, let it dry, then sand it back until smooth.
Depending on the damage, if there's cracking, you may need to 'V' the cracks a little and then fibreglass over them.
Make sure to let it fully cure before sanding as well.

Re: Body kit bumper
Dont lay fibreglass on the outside face, layit on the inside. Mask where the crack/break is soits basically holding the pieces in place before fibreglassing as well. You are better using fibreglass reinforced bog (rheofill) or plain bog on the outside face once dry to fill the small holes cracksbefore finishing.

Okay did the fibre glass on the bottom, then used filler on the top, then sanded it back and painted it. I think the bumper is like a cm longer now... hopefully it fits ^^

Re: Body kit bumper
Stock springs if you're on lowered ones at the moment, or different bumper.

Re: Body kit bumper
Your spring/shock combination is too low. need to replace to get clearance

Re: Body kit bumper
Put it this way, stock springs are damn high, so even if it doesn't look really low it might still be dropped.bradicus wrote:Not sure its even lowered

Re: Body kit bumper
I think it is a little lowered, unless the body kit makes it look lower. Probably wont buy new springs to just heighten it, will just drive careful up driveways etc.

Yup. All in the angles. Low offset wheels helped me as well.bradicus wrote:I think it is a little lowered, unless the body kit makes it look lower. Probably wont buy new springs to just heighten it, will just drive careful up driveways etc.
