from my point of view. i'm not really worried about the dyno results, however a dyno is very useful for testing products. basically when we test something we do a calibration dyno (baseline) run then quickly put a mod on and test it.

we always do a baseline run as as:

1. Ambient temp has an effect
2. Humidty has an effect
3. Service interval has an effect (car will read higher if its just been serviced).
4. Tyre quality (how much tread is left)

Dyno's all read different as well which is why i only use one dyno (being the UAS one, and always in shootout mode 6).

anyway just a few points i thought i'd add.
true you can go to 2 different dynos and compare power that way! Dynos are more for tuning, so only take the power as a guide as different shootout modes are used on different dynos, and no two dynos read the same!

exactly why we always use the same dyno and same shootout mode...

btw at autosalon a stock FTO pulled something like 115kW at the wheels... i think its about time they had that thing calibrated

How much does it cost to get your car dyno tuned? Also about 2 pages back there was talk about what gears manual GPX's hit speed limiter, I am not too sure but doing 165km/h I was in third at about 7000rpm or close to those figures
If I could I'd put a pic here i've tried but i can't!

Just out of curious, how does anyone know if that is really stock? It could have ported & polish head, bigger TB, chipe ECU, maybe even the front pipe or extractor. It would still look stock to others if the guy keep the rest look stock & didn't tell anyone about the mods. I mean this guy must have something in his sleeve to put a "stock" FTO on the dyno at Autosalon.

all autosaloon cars need to go on the dyno to be a contender for king auto saloon, its part of the rules.

Hmmm i think you have to be pretty brave to put a stock FTO to contend for the King of Autosalon.

Since Toni put her car in the same Autosalon show, did she got her car dyno too?? & if she did what was the result??

yeah it sure is. running a ball bearing t28 with a microtech mtx8. also has frontmount intercooler, exhaust, 7th injector in the cooler piping,,,,etc
all in all would still be happy with 150+ kw @ wheels with only 6-7psi.

Man, you have to give more info now.

Colour, plates etc. Can't recall seeing you around myself. Where did you find the car? What did it cost?

Also, you have to come to the cruise on Sunday if you can make it. There will be two cars (I think) going down from Newcastle, so we can meet you somewhere and cruise down together.

Of course, you will have to wait for us N/A people.

hey guys just to conferm it is a 1995 GPX mivec model. manual.black. body kit.
i use to own the boosted toyota paseo with FNTSY plates on it. i have since moved up to the fto but the paseo is still on the front lawn.
my fto is in need of a new oil line, as it has a bad oil leak. due to the engine bay having huge exhaust manifolds and a turbo, room is limited and makes this oil leak a problem. i am trying to fix the oil leak so i can make it for the cruze but i dont think i will be able to make it.
only had the car for a little while but it has been kept on the low.
