Replacing Crank Angle Sensor

Hey all,
So we're trying to replace Nick's crank angle sensor, but we're just wanting to confirm a couple bits.

One being that from looking at our spare engine, we must remove this pully, is that correct?



Which from some searching should lead us to this, with the sensor in place behind (not my pic):



Now, I'm assuming that to in doing all this we will have to remove the accessory belts?

Any help appreciated.

Yes, you will need to remove accessory belts in order to get the harmonic balance pulley off.

Both tensioners. Alternator one first, it's the one up top. First undo the centre nut on the pulley, then wind down the tensioner. Same with the bottom idler next, loosen centre nut, then wind in tensioner. Belts will all but fall off.

You'll need a bendy socket extension to get that top pulley or jack the engine till it clears the chassis rail lol

By the way, have fun with getting the harmonic balancer off! I had to use a socket set and put it on the bolt and crank the engine til it came loose but you can't do that seeing as though it's out of the car... So I hope you have a loooooooooong breaker bar

I can remove both belts in about 5 minutes lol

I just used a Bahco ratcheting spanner, it's slightly offset, so fitted fine and undid the bolts with no issues.
Fitted over both tensioners fine.

Considered doing this, I saw it done in a video, but we don't have a breaker bar long enough.

Kind of stuck on how to remove the balancer now. Our electric rattle gun isn't working, and the air powered one isn't powerful enough

Just get a long as pole! I dismantled my gym the other day for a breaker bar lol

Just found one long enough and pushed it against the LCA and turned over the engine and it worked yay!

now removing the balancer itself... it won't pull off, and we don't have a removal tool...

I'd be removing the one off the spare engine first

Lever it, bit by bit, all the way around using a the largest pry bar / screwdriver you can fit behind it.

Use a big crowbar or pry bar to try get it off
