and as for gpvr i wanted it cause it was lighter to do project on to make it fast
Mate, I live bang opposite a construction site for a rail/tram line. :\
The only light weight option for the GPvR is:
No sound proof padding inside doors. (Chuck them out from your GPX's doors)
No Climate Control (Chuck your AC out...none of the performance track cars have AC and stuff anyways, keep the windows down...that's your AC)
No Folding mirrors. (Am sure you can pick up lighter non folding mirrors from Yahoo Japan)
Dwayne and others can add if I missed something out.
hmm my ac i barely use it as it is windows is what i use, so true might as well get that out
well im looking at spending around 5k tops on gpx to make it faster without engine conversion

- Proper performance exhaust system
- Catalytic Converter (200 cell is the least you can go while staying road legal)
- Extractors
- Piggy back/ECU mod
- Braided brake lines
- Light weight alloy wheels
- Chuck the space saver tyre off
- Strut bars
- Coil overs
- Upgrade your discs and pads for better braking
- UAS/ARC intake pipe
- Cold air intake mod
- A good quality air filter
- Wavetrac LSD
- port and polish
- good tyres
C/F bonnet and hood ... Enkei wheels ... Better than the lemon detox diet...
Or better still, sell your car and buy mine...
I just had to add it ......

I talk a lot of sh*t, usually have to keep a roll of toilet paper handy in the car for my mouth

Yep. If you want a car with 90% of the stuff already done, grab it. If I was looking for a FTO now, I would have bought it.
(Or don't buy it..so I can get him drunk over the bonfire and convince him to swap with my motorbike )

I have been down the path of 2 motorcycles before... Sure I loved it, but when it came to those rainy days, I missed being in my steel coffin ...

Yep, my manual one works properly and wont break . I also have fold in mirrors. Basically, if you have the choice between the 2, go the GPvR, its easy to put in the fold in mirrors and you are better off without the climate control. Having said that, if you already have a GPX, stick with it, it isnt worth selling and buying a Version R.
LOL at everyone with a gpvr defending them and everyone with a GPX doing the same who gives a f**k, u allready have a GPX as if you'd put a new engine in just to sell to buy a Gpvr... How are u going to have time for a "BEAST" project when u don't have time to wash ya car
Because nothing is faster than a p plater in a commodore.....
except maybe a p plater on a unicorn

Destinationtoby probably has one of THE best FTO's on the forum I never get tired of looking at his pics! Good work mate!
dstocks wrote:hahahahah, climate control doesnt work properly. Ive sold enough replacement units to prove it.
Only thing with that is look at the amount of climate control units sold vs manual air con ... So technically your statistics are flawed...
I have had troubles with various model manual air con units in the past, and the only thing I had wrong with the FTO's was a servo clip broke off once... But new servo, all sorted...

LOLS mate will be helping me his gonna mod it according to what i want done. but yea might just have to sacrifice both weekends and dedicate it to maintaining and modding the car

Cables dont break, neither do the knobs. With the climate control, both the servos break and also the climate control unit itself breaks (ive sold at least 12 of them due to malfunctioning units). Statistics dont come into it im afraid. With the manual system, there isnt really anything that can break (at least I have never heard of anyone having an issue with one in an FTO). Unfortunately, same cannot be said for the automatic units.
Please dont piss down my back and try and tell me its raining .
Yep, when they work properly, they look to goods. But honestly, you can do the same thing with the manual units. The actual units under the dash are identical except for the solenoids. The only difference is the light up panel with the temperature and a couple of little motors. Not even sure why they bothered to remove them from the version R. Even with all the wiring would be lucky to be 2kg extra.
