I had been interested in learning more about automotive servicing for some time now. So after some searching through the Tafe webpage, I came across something which interests me.
I am planning to enroll in this course: Certificate 2 in Automotive Mechanical (Pre-apprenticeship) from the Coomera Marine Campus
http://gcit.edu.au/cis/?script_name=cou ... se_id=1477
Its Monday to Thursday of studies and workshop and Friday mandatory vocational placement organized by them. I want to start learning from the basics, so the units covered seem to have good content. Not sure how much depth each unit will cover but it's a 13 week full time course so am hoping to learn something out of it.
Has anyone here finished/enrolled in a similar course? Any feedback? Is it value for money?
If it teaches me some basic knowledge to do simple work on my cars by myself instead of taking it to a mechanic, that according to me should pay off the course' value.

Can I hope to get an apprentice role after completing this course? (I intend to continue with some more specialized certificates after this, but the course requires me to be currently working in an auto shop/auto school as an entry requirement).
