Always thought was 30 or 32 remember having to buy one at some stage as didnt have big enough one

I was going to get my mechanic to change it but I've got the DIY day in a couple of weeks so may as well do it then.

Fronts are 32mm. Rears I have no clue as I never have changed one. Usually the size of Mitsubishi rear crown nuts are 32mm as well.

This is what the facelift bearing looks like, the abs ring is transferrable and not built in;

The pic says up to 97 but that's what the MR316500 looks like on the back but it has 5 holes for the ABS ring.

I'm just trying to establish why they changed it, was it a purposeful improvement, or change for the sake of change - and can one be made to fit the other (facelift v non.) etc.

The facelift one is backwards compatible with non abs pre facelift you just don't use the abs ring. No idea why they would do that put maybe they revised the abs in the rear for some reason.
