They will abduct you to adjust the tappets on their space ship and demand you to tell them the secrets. "How do we become one with the triangle?"

The vibration happens while not moving, when the car is idling and in gear with the clutch depressed, in neutral it does not vibrate.

With the FTO?
or
With the thread?

Could your vibration be coming from the possible absence of a spigot bearing

ooohhkayyy...

so we spent another few hours on it, here is what we achieved. and also whats new! :(

flushed the sewerage waste out of the cooling system !

bled the clutch properly.

changed plugs.

learnt how to take intake manifold off.. < P.O.P much easier then i thought it would be.

did the gearbox bolts up, except the stripped one :D
fixed fog lights

HERE IS WHATS NEW!

the clutch isn't disengaging properly, on a flat surface, with the clutch in, and in first, the car will try to pull forward.

furthermore, even after bleeding it properly, it is still doing the same thing.

so i tried adjusting the pedal. still no good.

the other issue i have noticed, is that there is a vibration at about 1700RPM.

Even after reinstalling the air con compressor, (not gassed) i cant get it to "click" when i press the air con button.

SO NOW MY LIST OF THINGS TO DO

Replace engine mount

Work out Clutch disengage issue

adjust tappets

work out engine vibration.

install thousands of missing interior screws

get screws for engine cover

timing belt, water pump, oil pump.( after everything is running properly )

Do a skid

be merry

Right, i'll watch you do your sparkplugs next time and I won't tell you which bolts to undo, which parts to pull off or even which order to do it in. Then i'll watch you put it back on without any screwups and then you can comment

Until then :thebird:

big night last night!

so we did the following!

changed control arm, found to be bent from accident
replaced sway bar bushes,
replaced engine mount
rewired stepper motor, and a few other plugs said person broke off
adjusted tappets,, without tool, by feel! lol. it was better then before but certainly not perfect.

now the fun part!!

went to drive home. rattle rattle rattle! something fell down the intake, we had the intake ports blocked off, right up until we put the intake mani back on....

were pretty certain at washer from intake retain bolts fell in.

im a little peeved, but luckily i now have a spare engine at my disposal.

so starting tonight, engine out replacing heads with the ones off my old engine, kinda happy about this as they had NO overhead noise at all. also means, ill do timing belt, and head gaskets.

will probably also paint the block, something fancy.

I'm not sure where the fail starts & ends here. That engine will be f*cked now. That washer will have belted both the head, the piston & most likely scored the bore. You'll have to pull the whole motor.

Here's some pics of what to expect, we've seen it before...
