This is true, but when you cannot do that anymore its a good indication of how much on the warning light you have leftSahin wrote:It's coz the fuels splashing around in the tank and when you brake hard all it does is cover the sensor and the light goes off lol

Re: fuel consumption
The fuel level indicator can only reach so much of the fuel tank. You'll probably find that when the light comes on you'll have about 15L reserve, and then once it hits dead empty (as in the needle doesn't move when you start the car) there'll be about 3-5L left.Andym wrote:my fuel meter must be reading wrong, i'm sitting on empty at the moment and have travelled about 510km, and when I fill up im only putting in 40-43L
does this mean i have another 200 or so KM of driving left on empty? :\
As aza said, drive around with a 5L jerry can in the boot and take note of how many km's you travel between the fuel light coming on and the fuel actually running out. This will give you a good indication of just how far you can go when your light is on.
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

Re: fuel consumption
I just noticed by fuel consumption has dropped 150kms a tank. What goes on the FTO that causes higher fuel consumption except for the oxygen sensor?
