ah no way a 3 inch would be recommended for the FTO.

mines 3" from the cat back. Came with the car when I bought it 3 or so years ago. After noticing the piping had a rusted hole in one of the bends a few months ago, I just got em to make up an identical 3inch mandrel bent pipe to replace. My car runs fine for me.

yet if I do need to replace the muffler/cat I would probably make it 2.5"

I've got RPW extractors, 2'5 back into a resonator then up over the diff into a no name brand cannon. Sounds good at full song but vibrates and it's a bit noisy at low revs. Being an auto doesn't help. Maybe i'm getting old. Looking to replace the muffler with something a bit quieter without losing power.

I got, high flow cat, 2.5" from cat back to super-cat cannon... Sounds good to me atleast, not to loud but not too quite. :D

Except my cannon looks small when compared to some turbo cannon's they keep teasing me cos my cannon muffler is so small compared to theirs  :x

Stinger Stainless Steel Muffler with 4" Tip. Not too loud, but nice. I had an extremely loud Lancer before the FTO, and I got sick of it.

Did you put this in yourself? I don't understand?

Why would you go smaller then stock? The stock piping on the fto, is 2.4 (basically 2.5) i think, and that is mandrel bent. Why would anyone even need to change the piping? Unless they went turbo, i think the stock exhaust is almost perfect, for the car.

I'm not 100% sure. I dont really go for the size of the muffler, just the sound. Unfortunately the sound has been heavily reduced, because i put a resonator to make it a lot more "police" friendly.....stupid porkies
