OK guys, got info on the recall
Recall notification number 1122
Recall notification day June 18, Heisei 16
Recall opening day June 19, Heisei 16
It effects vehcles with Chassis number between DE3A-0000025 and DE3A-0013017 and production dates Oct/03/1994~Oct/31/1995 for the GPX and GR.
AND VEHICLES BETWEEN DE2A-0000008~DE2A-0001566 ,PRODUCTION DATES Oct/13/1994~March/03/1995.
Please read below for my contacts translation of the recall.
About the electric wiring harness of the FTO engine room, and also the electric wiring harness of the glove box of FTO
The situation and its cause of the structure, that is in a standard incongruent state, equipment, or a performance.
1) There is what has the unsuitable fixed method of the electric wiring harness routing for vehicle speed sensors in the engine room, and the electric wiring harness routing for idol number-of-rotation speed control devices. The electric wiring harness is pulled by the rotation of the engine under driving operation. Therefore, when the worst, wiring is disconnected and there is a possibility of mull functions of speedometer function, or an uncontrollable in keeping the proper engine idol number-of-rotation speed.
2) There is what has narrow clearance of the electric wiring harness of the between the glove box attachment brackets. The electric wiring harness and the bracket concerned may interfere by the vibration under driving operation, and the covering of electric wiring harness may be damaged. Therefore, when the worst, wiring short-circuits, a fuse goes out and there is a possibility that wiper operating or engine starting operation may become impossible.
The contents of an improvement measure
(1) Change the fixed position of the wiring harness in all vehicles and an engine room.
(2) Apply a masking tape on all vehicles and a glove box attachment bracket terminal.
In addition, wiring is checked, when (1) and (2) are damaged, if the condition is fixable,
correct harness and routing corrects, if the condition is uncorrectable, exchange them for
a new replacement parts.
I am waiting on my contact to give me a web address which contains pictures of the fault.
If you need more info just reply your question to this thread and i will pass it on.

The thing I find funny about this recall, is that the cars are like 10 years old, but the recall was released this year. (Talk about dodgy)
Seriously though, everybody should be checking there chassis numbers ASAP, to see if this applies to them. As I would not like to hear of somebody getting hurt because of this.
If your chassis number fits into this category, I can get more detailed information of the repair procedure of it.

Now if I go according to the date above, thats acounted for 80% of the FTO imported to Aus. Man thats bad.

There are two vague exploded diagrams (albeit in Japanese!) here:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the links for the two pics of the recall issues.
Now I'm even happier I got a 96 model as opposed to a 94/95

Sorry guys its just that im drafting the email up and i know for a fact when you have a language difference in emails , having things spelt incorrectly can cause huge confusion.
Did you ask about the CD and frontal area of the GPX? (I can see you asked about the Nakaya Tuned model, but the GPX is the main one we want as this is what most people have)ruchi wrote:co-efficient
...and remember to add with this question what is the "frontal area" of the FTO?

Yeah my compliance said its a 95, but i'm one of those lucky one that got one build after 31st of Oct 95. Funny though if i go according to the chassis number, mine should be build during 96indyfto wrote: Now I'm even happier I got a 96 model as opposed to a 94/95
