See that sounds like something I would need, wouldnt I. I mean how much of bitch would it be to loose my entire movie and music collection. I have nearly 400 movies and too many songs to count
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Bennoz wrote:Raid is redundancy. Ie if a hard drive dies, you dont loose any data because its spanned across 2 or more drives.

A PC is best then, for this kind of thing.

Although, if the PSU blows / mains power surge, etc, and takes out the HDDs, RAID will not help. Backups to DVDrs are still better.

Buy a good quality power supply, UPS and surge protector and those wont be an issue.

It depends on how crucial his data is, and how big they are.
But in his case, money is not an issue, so.... whichever is easier for him.

BTW, I really think we are off-topic.... his thread title is "Wiring for my house" ... and this is now 5 page long.
