Re: Powersteer belt
OK 6PK938 is too short to fit over crank and p/s pully's
Instead I used original belt via using tensioner other way round and its spot on
To do this however you will need to remove A/C compressor (I have removed entire A/C system though)
Only done this as intend to use it more for track than road use shortly as have bought another shitbox camry as a daily runner
(does need new engine though bottom end is fucked
)

Re: Powersteer belt
I hope you still have all the A/C parts as I want a full weight of it all when it's all out

Total weight = 10kgsaza013 wrote:I hope you still have all the A/C parts as I want a full weight of it all when it's all out
2kg = condensor
6kg = compressor
2kg = rest of piping incl all bolts and brackets (up to firewall)
not much but coupled with not having the extra load on compressor on motor = every little bit counts

Re: Powersteer belt
U do know that with the air conditioning turned off there is sweet f**k all load on the engine as the compressor simply acts as an idler. The only benefit in removing them is weight saving.vipfto wrote:coupled with not having the extra load on compressor on motor = every little bit counts
Also if taking it to the track, make sure that belt is real tight and check it after the first 3 sessions, it will stretch and if it's not tight it will come off, I know, race track proven

Re: Powersteer belt
I know but though may aswell do it as getting lighter crank pulley made up and already got lightened flywheel to go with it
