well anyone want to take a video of it they are welcome but dont expect me to be smoking up the wheels, I want traction not wheel spin and i aint risking blowing things up for a burnout.
the twin plate clutch let go today at 372 Hp ATW and 1800 Lb tractive effort, to put this into perspective, one of the guys at SST has a skyline that goes 590 Hp ATW and is getting the same torque ( 1800 Lb tractive effort ) We didnt continue after that as it is back to the drawing board for the clutch.
So untill this clutch is sorted wont be going down the strip as there is no point if the clutch is slipping.
Damn clutch

the show was great. spent the whole day there and still didnt get to see it all properly
got over 500 pics but some of them a bit blurry need to learn how to use this camera nearly all the car shots came out good it was just the shots of the girls that are a bit blurry, i think i had the wrong shutter setting
there wasnt any decent give aways though, just advertising, all the catalouges and calendars had to be paid for didnt even see any big posters. I picked up a heap of the advertising stuff.
There was some awesome cars there and so many cars with the vertical lift kit for the doors.
I asked about the kit for the FTO and they didnt do one but said they could do one up if i supplied them a car and would cost 250 000 yen, so about 3000 AUD

finnally got my injectors and they have been tested to 940 cc at 90 psi, mmmm lots of fuel
couple more minor things to do to the fuel system, so there should be plenty of fuel for when we get the clutch sorted, just need to get this other motor built so we can push the boost right up. MMMMMMMMMMM cant wait ((( damn this clutch )))

Danny,
From your experience without buying all the extra goodies like better turbo etc, What in the transplant needed to be changed and what was just done to increase performance.
For example was a custom manifold needed in order to make the transplant fit, or was that so you could just use the single turbo?
What I’m trying to ask is what would needed to be modified to make this fit if you just wanted a stock 6A13TT to fit.
Could you use the 6A13tt’s gear box?
How much in parts would you think this would be?
How long do you think it would take?
Do you think not including any extras do you think this could be done for under $10,000?

Yeah, I thought that Danny was running the stock FTO gearbox as well. I think Danny was thinking that the gearbox might break once he got the clutch issues fixed that are talked about earlier in this thread.
I think then that Black_FTOGPX was asking if the original gearbox from the 6A13tt might be better but due to it being four wheel drive, I believe it wouldn't be able to be used.

Sorry guy’s I’m not really up to speed with the AWD stuff. So is it the actual transmission which sends the power to all four wheels?
I thought the transmission in the gallant is the same as the ones in the FTO. (TIP 5 Speed)
Only asked that cause I have a 4 speed tip and if I was going to do this I don’t think that would take it to well.

If you going to use T28BB as your setup, the S15 intercooler would be a perfect choice, as it was design for low boost for the T28BB in S15, which give u enough cooling & almost no lag.

Well you do the 6A13 transplant, so you have a motor designed for a turbo and capable of a large increase performance over the 6A12, you could spend 10K turboing a 6A12 but unless you spend more money and crack it open and do the internals it will only run 7 Lb boost and on 7Lb boost if your lucky you might get 200+ Hp ATW so if you are going to spend a large amount of money, you want a large increase in performance.Black_FTOGPX wrote:Danny,

To keep the 6A13 Twin turbo would require custom manifolds or you would have to bow the fire wall. It was a lot easier to fit a single turbo and made sence performance wise.Black_FTOGPX wrote:For example was a custom manifold needed in order to make the transplant fit, or was that so you could just use the single turbo?
You would have to build new exaust manifolds, oil feeds and oil returns to the turbos, water feeds and water returns to the turbos. or modify the fire wall, and all new intercooler plumbing, new fuel pump and new exhaust. Rewiring the engine and new computer or 6A13TT computer would have to be wired in. I recomend going with a good aftermarket computer as this will cost more but will give you better control when tuning, and if you use the original computer you would then need fuel and boost controlersBlack_FTOGPX wrote:What I’m trying to ask is what would needed to be modified to make this fit if you just wanted a stock 6A13TT to fit.
( piggy back computer ) Better to get a new computer that does all that and much more.
You would be best to speak to the person who would do the conversion as they will look at it and have there own ideas about what is easiest and quickest, " time is money "
You could probably get it to fit, How much it would cost i dont know. Do you want to make it a 4WD or keep it a FWD. Why do you want to use the 6A13 Box the original FTO box will bolt on. I would keep it Auto and have the Auto strengthened as this would cost not much more then a decent twin plate clutch and flywheel.Black_FTOGPX wrote:Could you use the 6A13tt’s gear box?
This depends on what parts you use.Black_FTOGPX wrote:How much in parts would you think this would be?
How long is a piece of string ? Best to ask the person who would do it. And expect them to take longer.Black_FTOGPX wrote:How long do you think it would take?
Again how long is a piece of stringBlack_FTOGPX wrote:Do you think not including any extras do you think this could be done for under $10,000?
This is too hard to answer as that depends on who is doing the job, and what parts you will use, and what quality you want.
If you use a Galant VR4 half cut and you do the Job your self in your own workshop. yes under 10k. If you pay some one to do it for you, I dont think so.
