FTO conking out...
Hey,
Had my FTO for a few weeks now and quite a few times it has conked out and not started for at least 10 mins.
At first I thought it maybe a fault with the immobilizer, but I have disconnected it now (still have to fully take it out) and it's still happening.
I think it might be something to do with the fuel or air intake or maybe something overheating. Although the temp gauge isn't indicating a problem the fact that is starts after 10 or so mins might be because it has had time to cool down.
It's also been happening more as the weather has been warming up.
Anyone else had a similar problem or know what might be causing this?
Thanks guys.

How did you go with this Tyger?
I'm having the exact same problem occasionaly.
Randomly it will just die and then not start for 10mins or so.

also check error codes as that will give us more of an idea of what is going on.

Ok... pulled error code 32 (Vacuum Sensor) Where is this located? is there another name for it? i'm trying to find a reference for it in the fto tech docs.
Occasionally at highway speeds the engine will die for a fraction of a second... no lights come on or anything just a fraction of a second of no engine power.

Its the sensor right up the back on the firewall, about the middle. You'll see a black box with the tiniest of vacuum pipes that connects to the manifold itself. Make sure that pipe is on & ok.

Thanks Bennoz and crew!
Located the sensor, pipe seemed to be in order but after manipulating the plastic sensor housing when the engine was running i could get the engine to cut, closer inspection of the housing revealed a hairline crack.

I've JB welded it.... will see if holds up until i can organize a new one.

Good find
They are notorious for being damaged because of the dickhead position they're in. Everytime someone does an 'intake manifold off' service it will cop a whack.
