Private health cover

Post by Astron_Boy »

Hey all.

Long story short, I need dental work, a lot.
my gum work is shot, and my teeth are suffering, as such I need $10,000 worth of work.

Please send me money...

Nah I'm joking.

What I want to know, is what if any private health cover will cover such a vast amount of work.
I need root canal on one tooth, and 6 crowns.

I have checked MBF and HCF, all of which would only cover $1000 worth of major surgery annually, and with a 2 month waiting period.
I have a booking in one month for the root canal, as it is apparently dire. (Have an abscess that will affect all front top teeth )

Any help on how to get around paying so much is appreciated.
Please hold the jokes if you could, though I know that's hard for some of you. ;)

Depends on the cover provider. I know for instance Im with NIB & they tend to cover a lot more 'preventive' dentistry than repair work. I've had a couple of holes filled & only had about 50% of it covered as opposed to a possible 75%.

Hey MAD-FTO,

Im actually in a very similar situation. I need wisdom teeth taken out so got to pay for that and the happy drugs to go with it (anaesthesia). As well as that, I'll need to get a root canal in a month or two.

I'm currently with HCF and they only cover a certain amount, like maybe 30%. They told me it was because something like Wisdom teeth removal is only done once in your life so they wont cover it and its quite costly so I have to shell out and pay for it myself.

Im not sure about other private health insurance firms though. I'd be interested to find out if anyone would cover my dental work.

Don't goto Thailand, goto India

http://www.3news.co.nz/TVShows/Nightlin ... fault.aspx

Look at that story from one of our current affairs shows (could find the video somewhere)

It is a valid option and costs FAR less with damn good results... you can easily find the dentists that do work for the bollywood industry, worth looking into if you need a sh*t load done

CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
