hi i'm just tidying up the engine bay in my FTO and was wondering what i should use to clean these parts of the engine..

cant see, have to log on...but im assuming you just mea making the engine bay look shiny ;) if so, just get some polish spray i think its called armour something or other (thats the one i use) and it will make everything niec and shiny...
if you are talking about the manifold, u might have to sand off the dirt on it then polish it up with a buffer...im sure someone with myspace will be along shortly ;)

It is the intake manifold ...

You need to polish it up ... Aza did it to his ... Look in his gallery ... It is a big job and one that takes many hours....

as said there is a lot of time (50 hours) and work in doing it :? but after its done looks great.
I am doing another one now but that is for another member :D
but after that I will be doing it all over again with another A.I.M. for who ever wants it. it comes with a small price of $200 and your old manifold oh and it has to be a GPX motor, as the GR one are not the same sorry :?

i just finished polishing my intake manifold for when the new engine goes in.

start by using a sandpaper drill attachment and go over the whole thing until fairly smooth and free of the tiny bumps that it has before you started.

then the hard bit....hand sanding, probably about a 1000 grit to get started and then fine wet n' dry to finish off.

then get a buffer drill attachment and beff 'er up.

it's a long process but the final result is well worth it.

you get payed more flipping burgers at big M's

I'd be up for one Azza ... And I use to get $4.64 an hour when I was working for Macas back in 1994/95 ... Hehehehehehehe

burger king paid $4.71! and we had $2 laundry allowance every week!

pics to come soon but first i need to do a bit more sanding, i thought i was done until i saw it in the sun the next day and noticed some scratches on it so i'm going to try and get rid of them tomorrow

Shame your not doing GR's id pay 200 for it. Ive been contemplating it for so long but looks like a bitch of a job

well the only reason that I am not doing the GR's is due to I dont have one for it :lol:
If I had one then I can start doing them as well. Give me a little time and I will pick one up from the scrap yard some place and I will get on to it :D
