Lancers
I have noticed a common theme with us FTO owners, a lot of us have had Lancers previously to purchasing our loved ones... curious to see just how many of us ex-Lancer owners there are.

I'm thinking of getting the tripple diamond tattood on my ass... my FTO is my 4th mitsi
1st: 78 stigma, metallic green (2L auto then man)... the damn thing just wouldn't die... no matter what I did to it... although 3 engines and two gearboxes in 3 years was a pretty good attempt at killing it
2nd: 86 TN Magna silver with black "oem" pannels by time i got rid of it (2.6 efi man)... a station wagon no less... more torque than a truck and it didn't ever need a new engine
3rd: 00 Proton satria (1.5 man)... not 100% mitsi, but I think it counts... just a rebadged CC hatch. Great little rice car, fully loaded and better than a lancer in the handling Oh yeah.. it was one of those YELLOW ones
4th: My pride and joy, the Passion red FTO. ......
on the up side, with the way that Mitsubishi put their cars together, there's not a whole lo I don't know about their mechanicals, their "secret signs" and bodgy ways to keep them running well past their use by dates...

yeah I'm one of those who used to have a Lancer
and i miss it too.. coz i sold it to a friend that lives on the same road and he's riced it up
what i can say is that the fact that I owned a Lancer (Mitsubishi), which was very good to me and reliable.. it made the purchasing of the FTO easier as it was from a Family car name that serve me well.... I actually had a deposit on a CRX (Japan export which had electric roof that goes in the boot), but saw the FTO at the last moment and the fact that my last Mitsu was great, it made it easier
like you know.. how our dads has to either buy a Toyota Camry, not because they like it... but because their old toyota lasted them 20yrs or so
... you get what i mean
it's called BRAND LOYALTY

I was a Mirage boy.
I think it was a 96 model.
The one just before the current one where they have mirage written on the boot.
It was ok but the fact that it was an auto I couldn't handle it.
So had it for about 2 yrs and sold it and got my also passion red FTO.
And loving every minute of it...although it's little bit sick at the moment.

Cheers,
