King springs lowring

Post by oodLes »

Hey all, a mate of mine recently started work at the King Springs factory, so now hes able to get me the things at a super cheap price, just wondering how low people reccomend I should take her, I was also wondering (and dstocks you'll probably be the man to answer this) if there was anything that could break, like the strut tops?

Thanks all. Also I put this in the Styling area as I don't expect huge performance from the springs, mainly looks. :P

i rang up the kingsprings hq and they reckoned for their range to not go lower than 35mm, but i'm getting TEIN S-spec springs that drop the car nearly 50mm all round with scrubbing out apparently.
also would depend if you have a big bodykit as they tend to bottom out a lot easier than a stock body, and also the size of your wheels.

Kings

Post by dstocks »

I have a set of kings that have been in a car for about a month for anyone interested. I am happy with the apex springs I have so they are surplus to requirements. But when these where in my blue FTO, I was happy with them.

    If you're gonna get some, pay the extra & get some good quality ones ... this is your suspension, one of most important things on your car
    As far as Ozzy Tyres go, I will never be going back there, nor recommending them to anyone ... I'll just leave it at that ... If you want my horror story just send me a PM .. Don't want to open the club up to defamation or anything

    I'm sure one of the members wouldn't mind picking you up a set & shipping them over ... I should be able to get a set at Trade Prices

    Yes really, lol

    If theres enough people interested I'll look into getting a few sets as a bulk buy ... They will have my new Brake Rotors in about 3 weeks, so will pick up the order then if anyone is interested.

    If we have 5 people it should be enough;

    Take the normal price & slash it by 20% that'll give you a rough idea.
    Will find out the price for you all on monday.

    I guess as low & stiff as you want them ... If you're wondering what you will need for your car, give King Springs a call, they're based down the Gold Coast & have done work on a few FTO's before ... let them know what you want to get out of it & they will take it from there...

    This is the link I sent to Sammi;
    http://www.ftowa.com/html/workshop/workshopart01.html

    Its a v.good article about it all ... if you're unsure about anything or want to get some advice from the pro's, give Fulcrum Suspensions a call or drop in to talk about what you're wanting to do. www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au

    Also, If you want to get them professionally installed rather than DIY, think about taking them in to Fulcrum Suspensions, they have one of the best (If not the best) reputation in Oz...

    Hey, Can I ask everyone to find out how low they want to go with their springs & such? I can give Fulcrum a call to get their opinion on how low to go, but I assume its all personal preference ...

    e.g. I don't want to lower my car so much that I have troubles getting up driveways or scrape the bottom of my car going over bumps. Just enough to get a decent boost in handling.

    When I place the order I want to just be able to say 2 x 25mm drop, 1 x 35mm drop, 3 x touching the ground etc
