hey guys, this v-racing is definitely good
on my evo, apparently it is tuned for 100ron, compared to other 98ron i've used, which usually give me about 340km per tank (53L)
with the v-racing, i was able to get about 380 per tank!
and performance wise definitely noticeably smooter acceleration across the rev range.
some guy also had a dyno comparing the fuels, now i jsut gotta find it.

its an EVO! most reviews give them 16-20 per 100kms... you cant expect great performance without fuel use....

yeah my skyline gets outstanding fuel ecc. compared to mates in the club. I get about 450-500 max...from 60l...most get 350.

Ok so in technical terms, why does it chew up so much fuel say compared to Chris' Skyline which is a 3.0L V6 and runs a f*ckload of boost?

Chris Skyline is RB25DET, so its 2.5L straight 6 not 3.0L or V6.

Haven't you seen the Toyota ad with Mr. T "Power without efficiency, isn't power"

Itâ€™s pretty simple, you got a little engine that pulls the same power of a larger one, so of course itâ€™s going to use more petrol. Plus itâ€™s an AWD, which need more power to run it and yes that mean fuel.

Sh*t! 3.0L V6 is out of the GTO...

I always did think he had an RB26 for some reason.

Anyway I'm tipping that the Skyline would be heavier than the EVO so based on all those factors it sounds like it chews up petrol coz of the way it's driven...

my fuel consumption is not becoz of the way i drive...
most of the time i dont drive up to the boost point which is about 4k
i usually take it up to 3.2k when bost start to spool
so...300+km from one tank is from granny driving...
to give u an idea...at wake field, i do about 220km before petrol light shows

it has been in malaysia and singapore for more than 5 years... its to my surprise when i come to australia last year that they use "optimax" but not "V-power".

I have filled up the tank with VPower racing stuff yesterday,
To be honest it feels little better, and the sound of the exhaust has changed slightly, not sure if I'm imagining though.

Now about the Optimax, if you have a look at the bowser at the station, there is a sticker there that outlines the petrol they sell, and it actually says that Optimax is V-Power.
So, it is a really rebranding by renaming of Optimax

I reckon I will give 100octane a go for a while. It was $1.28 pre litre, which is pretty ok.
However, ir BP comes up with 100 octane, I would definately switch to that
I just dislike Shell

Hrrm,

Anyone use Boost fuel? from United

I have been using this for the last 10 re-fuels and it seems identical to the BP ultimate I have always used. Although it has ethynol?

Not that I go sniffing fuels, but do you guys notice each company seems to have differnt smelling fuels? WHen I had older cars, Woolworths smelt like rotting vegies.. fishers had a different bad stink.

Always gone to BP since trying the other places the 323 ran like crap.

when my dial is sitting at E i get 40 litres in but ive never seen fuel light come on
