I have been driving my FTO for the last 20,000kms with leaking cam seals that my mechanic tells me would now best be fixed! Due to the nature of the engine and where the seals are lcoated he said we may as well do timing belt, spark plugs, ignition leads etc whilst we have the engine out as labour is the main cost! just wanted to know what people have paid for this kind of work. So far he has only quoted me his labour rates and appox timing belt cost.
Timing belt $160 (seems cheap)
labour $65 hr.
Leads ????
Spark Plugs ????
Some other head thing needs replacing.....
Cam seals: i think are only $20 each
If anyone knows any info on this, or has been quoted before on this things can they let me know so i have comparisons??
