Valvoline Synthetic Oils

I am getting this oil put into my car at the servicing this week. Was told it was top of the rangẹ.
What benefits would i get from this oil? Any performance gain?
I was also told i would not need any additives eg uniglide if i was going to use synthetic oils.

i don't know about it being top of the line but i've recently moved from motul to redline and found their products to be excellent. it really depends on how you treat your engine.

as i've reported we found a 2kW gain by using uniglide products. if you have cheap access to a dyno the only way for you to decide whether or not it is worth it is to try it in your car. that uniglide stuff is some slippery sh*t.

Hello,

Sorry about the silly question but what does uniglide do?
And where does it go? along with your engin oil?
Are they hard to get a hold of?

Also, bit out of topic but does any one know what the part number for the lifter are for the gpx? I have found some thing similar but there are couple of similar ones on the part number resource we have here. Does any one know the definate one?
I have also e-mailed northshore mitsu but never got a reply back, so I'm assuming that I got a wrong part number that they don't understand.
And would any one know roughly how much it'll be to change one?

well I have tried Mobil 1 synthetic and then i switched to Motul without any problems... since my last service earlier this week i'm now using Motul Racing oil and it's working beautifully...

Hi,

If you want to test to see if your oil makes your car produce more kW than a dyno would be the way to go.

The real way to see how an oil performs is to have it analysed properly the next time after you change it. A lot of places can perform these tests at a resonable cost if you supply a small sample of your old oil.

Used to run Amsoil in my previous car and had it tested each time it was changed to see how it and my engine was performing and also if there were any problems.
