Few guys had done it in Melb and to be honest, i'm not that impress with them. They are base on the Honda Civic kit and around $2k plus fitting.
I seriously think the Lambo doors are out of fashion now. If you going to get a Lambo doors, get those one with proper design and hinges. Cost around $5k from good Ol' U.S of A, but they can open vertically and horizontally and they look much better then those cheap kits.

That kit from autofashion has had nothing but bad reviews from the uk guys, thats why the kits are on special. I think the problem was in the installation side of things though so the kit should be fine if u do a good installation.
Also i'm pretty sure northqldfto got his set from them when they were full price.

Yeah even on there pics one door isnt on the same angle as the other one. im sure installation is the key to it. and fto338 what you talkin about out of fashion only a handful of ppl have done it and it looks awesome on two door cars thats why lamboghini r still using them today. they will never go out of fashion. u should take a look at gearstick knob diy thread they were talkin about puttin an 8-ball pool ball on their FTO'. NOW THATS OUT OF FASHION HA HA HA

The below is taken straight out of an email between myself and a very nice fellow named steven on the Gold coast who can do this mod. mind you this email was 2 years ago now.
Feel free to try contact him with any other questions (if he still around there) i would be interested to hear if it can still be done.
Where can i get it done? we make them on the gold coast, and have a local panel beater do the fititng and all aligning
How much will it cost? the hinges are $1500 FOR THE PAIR AND ALL FITTINGS, the fitting is of maximum $250 we have found, this is due to the front bar being removed, front guards removed and the alignment of the hinges with the doors, and then the process of putting the car back together etc
How long does it take? can be done over a weekend, or a day if needed, however cheaper to get this panel beater to do it caqsh over the weekend for you, or during xmas he would be free
Is it legal to drive with the mod? i don't know, you would have to check, i can not see whay you w0ould get in trouble, there are many cars with mods, im not sure. i think they would be legal, as theres no metal cutting etc
Are they reliable? any breaks we will fix, as we have no problems with reliability, i imagine as it uses a gas shock it would be as reliable as the shocks, like on the boot of the car, bonnet etc, they have a lifespan, but more than 2years i am sure
Have you had it done? we have done 3 cars, due to the maximum we could make in the time frame, as soon as we get the orders we make the hinges book them, fit them etc
Feel free to try contact him with any other questions (if he still around there) i would be interested to hear if it can still be done.
I also have pics of the hinges i will put up tonight.

There are heaps of FTO got Lambo doors already. A member post a pic a while ago, where there are at least 20 FTO parked side by side and all with Lambo doors. Why try so hard to imitate others, when people just see you as a ricer.I8AFRE wrote:Yeah even on there pics one door isnt on the same angle as the other one. im sure installation is the key to it. and fto338 what you talkin about out of fashion only a handful of ppl have done it and it looks awesome on two door cars thats why lamboghini r still using them today. they will never go out of fashion. u should take a look at gearstick knob diy thread they were talkin about puttin an 8-ball pool ball on their FTO'. I wouldn't compare a cheap lambo kit to a proper fully automatic self open/close doors. Having seen a fair bit of these type of cheapo kits in life (3 on a FTO), The problems i saw was these kits don't close the door properly and they squeal like a bitch if you don't oil it every now and then. What's worst, when you have the door open, it looks like it about to fall off every time wind blow by.
Lamborghini using it because its their tradmark on their flagship model like Murciélago, i don't see the Gallardo using it. And Gallardo is Lamborghini most successful model to date, which of course out sell the Murciélago.
A member was selling one for $500 around the start of the yr, it originally cost him around $2.5k in total. And he too thought it was the greatest thing in the world at the start, he even thought he was the first one to do it. But he face all the problem i mention above and obvious the sell price reflected it.

Yeah cause Lamborghini chose to keep the doors exclusive to the V12 models, as it has done since the Countach when they were first introduced. However, to the disappointment of enthusiasts and owners have had to fit their own, vertical-opening doors.

Like i said before, if you going to get a Lambo door kits, you better off getting a proper one, one that are properly engineered, which i can see you agree to that, as you posted Hamann vertical kit, which easily cost around 11/2 of a FTO.
By all mean do us all a favor and get one of those kit you mention above so we can see how long it will last compare to other al'cheap one that are already on the market.

It actually got a very good roller so the car helpfully won't crush and you should able to get out through the windows.
