Pictures of my FTO

Post by leinad »

Hi everyone,

Here are some photo's I have finally got around to taking of my car.
Got a bit dusty throught the day although can't seem to tell on the photos.

Wheels were originally white, have been powdercoated silver/pearl, same colour was done for the front mesh.
I would like to change them eventually as they just came out looking like a dirty white :P

Front bar took two months of patience, re-fibre glassed, cut in half in order to fit, re-fibre glassed again, then fitted and painted. So it's not perfect as its missing a good inch from original size 8O

nice, and congratz on the buy (if u've bought it recently that is!)

You probably already know you need matching sideskirts since the front is closer to the ground than the sideskirts and looks a tiny bit uneven (sorry not meaning to offend you here)

Anyway, nice car, gotta love the bozzspeed

ah it's not completely a DC and not completely a bozzspeed bar.. its a mixture of the 2..?!

I have a full dc kit I know what a normal DC looks like 8)

Yes well, we all know where those bars came from & I wouldn't be moulding off anyones!
Front bar took two months of patience, re-fibre glassed, cut in half in order to fit, re-fibre glassed again, then fitted and painted. So it's not perfect as its missing a good inch from original size
I'd be taking a Bozz or DC bar down to your local panel shop with these or shues pictures and saying "make me one of these"

Yeah I wanted to get the matching sides and a replaced rear bar as well, although funds did not permit this

Have owned the car now for just over 4 months.

Its due for a service and I can hear a few things that need replacing, grinding noise.. sounds like catalectic converter did on my old VN when that died.
Also knocks when I go over bumps, has taken almost 2 months for Whiteline bushers to arrive.

Interested in opinions, I would like to change my wheels but probly wont be able to sell mine. Or could just get them re-powder coated in a different colour finish.

===========================================

Here are some quick photoshops my girlfriend did to try changes.

Daniel it looks great! Sorry to hear about the fitting issues but it's come through looking fantastic in the end.

My gf still regrets selling it and after seeing these pics I'm sure she'll miss it more...

i think powder coat your rims black, get sideskirts on (hit up dmd in brisbane for dc sides, will cost u around 400$) and a new wing or get rid of the wing all together and your all set. i really like the black bonnet too. looks nice on that colour

thats exactly whats been done with your front bar. it was made from the lower lip blended in and the centre bar removed. black grill, bonnet and rims would look hot
