Ah, the child restraint brackets, on some FTO's they can be a major pain in the cock when removing the rear shelf. On mine I just give it a hard upward tap against the window and slowly but surely lever it off those two poles. On a wreckers FTO however when I was trying to remove the rear shelf it was impossible... might have to drill out the poles from underneath but I think that's illegal...
Bennoz could probably shed some light on the matter, he's dealt with them in a more constructive way before so it's possible he knows a trick or two about getting the shelf off.

A majority of FTO child restraints are only pop rivetted in - as they had to be installed in order for the cars to pass compliance to Aus specs when they are imported. If you look underneath the shelf you'll see the small metal plates that are welded to the child restraint poles. If you drill the pop rivets out of the plates they will fall out & the shelf just comes right out then. Change your speakers, put the shelf back in then you can just pop rivet the restraints back in. Technically it is illegal to not have them in....
