Which intercooler to install on 6A13?

Post by Alex402 »

Hello there,

I wanna install intercooler for my 6A13 engine (ECW5, sorry I'm not an FTO owner right now :)

I was looking for GReddy but they don't make ones for my car.

Which one would you recommend to install with lowest tech modifications?

thanks in advance!

Depends on how much boost you;'re going to be pushing, a common mistake that people make is getting too big of an intercooler which only contributes to lag.

Greddy makes nice ones but a bit too much money in my opinion. You dont need an intercooler specifically for your car unless you wanted it to come with all the exact piping to use right back. Get a universal one. Right now I have a 24"x8"x2.5" and thats more than enough for my 6psi and would expect it to be good for a good bit more. Check on ebay for a quality bar and plate design with the end tanks already on. Make sure the in and out pipe are at least the same diameter as your turbo piping. Hope I gave you enough information to get you started.

Where you located? How'd you get an EC5W in Australia?
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Sorry dude.........

Nice car and good power..........they can extract pretty good power using the stock evo intercooler especially when drifting. Maybe you can pick one up second hand?
