planning to pull out some of my interior.. the trim around the gearbox panel, trim around the aircon vents, maybe the whole centre console and some other sh*t .. to paint it red/white
anyone whos done this before.. are there any tricky plastic clips i really have to watch out for? ..would hate to break something
oh yeah.. i'm also going to pull out the door panels and try to remove the carpety fabric and replace it with red leather. how hard is it to get it apart?

also.. something i can't find a mention of anywhere.. to get the aircon vent trim out, do you need to pull the entire dash out, or can you pry it out with a screwdriver or something. and can i get the trim out seperately from the vent unit?
I was told if I paint it myself, the paint will start peeling after a few months from the heat in summer etc so i rather pay a proffessional to do it since it wont peel and they'll do it properly

Mine is still looking good. Its been a good 6 months now and the bit with the climate control/clock/charge still hasnt cracked (even though it is rubber).
Highly recommend the dashboard centre in Melbourne to anyone after a professional job.
also.. if you use a half decent plastic primer and good quality 2pack paint, then cracking shouldn't really be a problem.
I don't think that's paint dude, it's rubber
Would be extremely hard to paint that pattern on
anybody know any places in sydney that'll do the roof lining and door panels + the whole console in the middle?
Im assuming the leatherette material can't be applied to the console and it'll just have to be painted?

sorry, i should've asked before, but what about passenger side airbag?
will removing the dash render it useless?
also, i dont want it exploding unexpectedly =p
EDIT: also, i meant if it was possible to paint the dash, and would it be ok to paint over the airbag cover?
With all cars its usually nothing but screws & clips.. after you've taken out all the screws that you can see give it alil pull, if its stubborn then there must be another screw or two thats hidden.. Anyways.. in reguards to painting the interior i rekon that its better left stock.. If youre after a different look maybe try carbon fibre parts or something.. You'll probs get sick of the painted interior in time and wished you'd left it... Thats just my opinon anyways.. from experince that is..
I sprayed my previous car and it looked allright.. but after a month or two kinda got sick of it.. as pictured belowed
If you're still keen on painting it head down to Auto barn / Supercheap auto or equivalent. They sell spray paint epspecially for interiors / upholstery.. They stick pretty good without any primer... after the colors been sprayed, top it off with a "top clear coat" n that should do it..
fto's got a passenger air bag? Which yr / mod? If your afraid of setting off the air bag just pull the out the fuses, and place them back in when youre done... Im sure spraying on top of it shouldn't stop it from popping out when its needs to be..
