Here's what happenned and can anyone give me advice?
I was at a friend's place and my car was parked on street. This other guy, who was visiting his mother across the road from where I was at reversed out of his mother's driveway and apparently didnt see my car
Result is he hit my right side guard, denting it and also paint damage, scratches etc...the usual suspects. Thank god there was no damage to the wheel and steering, I made sure of that before he left.
He has got insurance but I don't. Should I be worried? And what steps should I take because of this fact?
I'm going to be driving around today to some local panel beaters to get some quotes and assess the damage. Does anyone know of any good panel beaters that have worked on FTO's before?
hmm not sure how it works exactly without insurance however I think you need to call his insurance place and work out the details. I assume you got the insurance details?
get insurance. smashed my car few months back...the bill is now of 12k....thanks god its only costing me 1k.
Perfect example for the old question.Should i get it,just in case?Yes u should because its easy to say "don't worry mate,i've got insurance" instead of going into a rage.Insurance, keeping ppl out of jail since back in the day.
Go & get a statement if you haven't got one, or his/her insurance company going to turn the case around & blame u instead.

Woah! I had the exact same damage not long ago, paid 200 for the part, shipped, off ebay (it was the right colour) and 50bux for fitting.
if i was paying for the damage and it was my fault then i'd go thru some lengths to get it done this way.....since its his fault and his insurance should end up paying then i'll go thru whatever process they want
good to hear that the panel isnt that expensive... might even ask the beater to try and source a fresh one

Heard him said? So are you saying none of your witness actually saw it? Without a statement or actual incident’s eye witness, the insurance company going to run you over with a tank.
Some insurance company even "encourage" or "lead" the "guilty party" to deny it so him/her can save themselves from an increase of insurance fee when due for renew.
I've seen it happen heaps of time. Verbal agreement don't mean sh*t in court. It might sound extreme but I rather be save then sorry.

Agreed
The best solution in this situation was to call the cops and let them have a report, mentioning the giulty party.
Without this, it is strickly depending on the insurance company and luck.
Yourword against his, and your withness' word against his witness'
But again, looking to the accident it is obvious that he hit you. You have a very strong case to argue that it is his fault.
Make sure you dont pay anything, that $1200 quote is just a rip of thouhg,
try somewhere else,
Since this is a minor civil matter, & no one got hurt, the cop usually won't get involve, so a statement that is signed with license number & dated by the "fault" party is a must.
And the damage can go both way, the other party can claim that they parked the car on the street while 3clipz was trying to do a 3 points using the other party's driveway & run into their car instead. Which you can imagine it will end up with the same damage result on both cars.
