Costs???

Post by Lemo »

I was just wondering how much it would cost to do up an fto, this would include Body kit, full respray, ICE really audio only, Rims, Exaust, CAI, full interiour ie. doors, seats, dash, roof, ect, and anything else you guys think I missed or should be done to one.

Im still learning about all this so help is greatly appreciated. :D

I got a rough estimate of like $10k :?

u can never put an estimate when u start working on a car. remember u get what u pay for . u can get an ice install for about 1 k right upto 10 k . best advice is to attack it in parts. start off with one section and move on to the next once its completed

Depends on what part you pick. I guess you just have to try to get parts that fit into your budget. One warning its a never end pit.......

For example you can go to one extreme by getting a set of light weight rims which will cost you $4k alone or a set of super cheap $400 made in China boat ank.

The choice is your, set a budget & stick with it.

I agree

Skies the limit young padawan learner......

Draw up a list of priorities first. I think we all have one of these!

Look into them one at a time and choose the best option to suit your budget/tastes. Its theoretically possible to achieve what youre asking for within that budget (10k), but it really depends on the quality/type of materials you use.

You also need to assess whether your CAI, exhaust and rims are going to be used for performance gain or to make the FTO sound better.

For example you can get a really nice set of rims cheap, but they probably weigh a tonne! And if you wanna just get a better sound out of the FTO then skip the whole exhaust and get just a different muffler.

    My answer would be why?

I mean sure it's cool and you will stand out and your ar will be really nice, but 10k is a lot to spend on something that you will never get your money back from.

I mean, i'm not saying spending / modding is bad, but i'm saying 4k tops would be enough i guess. But if that is what you want then go for it! :)

    Summary:
    CAI / Air filter - $400
    Exhaust - $800
    Extractors - ~$800
    Rims - $1500 cheap, 3000+ nice ones
Veilside Bodykit: 1300 unpainted, 1900 painted (cheapest bodykit)
    ICE - 1000 to infinity

The list can go on goes on.
One this that you have to ask is what you want the car for, show? look factor? a bit of everything? track work? drags?

My car is setup mostly for track work, with a bit of bling attached for the slightly look at me factor.

Mate if you want to spend that much money, Turbo it. atleast you get some fun out of it then! Fto's already look good. dont need to stuff around with them. and doing the interior is a waste if u ask me! because that already looks good to. because they r small inside. i think the black looks good itself(my opionion anyway), but if u want to spend money, definately turbo. atleast then u can justify spending the money! my 2 cents worth.....

If you have 10k you could give it to me

Yeah everything varies so can't suggest a rough cost, i mean comes to think about it i've put around 13k altogether in my car. As you can see on my photo it's not like a fully sik car ... so every parts varies.

Turbo would be fun but i would still go for another engine instead of using FTO engine turbo.
The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.
