Hey,
I was out driving today, got bored so i went for a drive.
And while i was waiting for a green light my revs dropped from 1k to about 400-600 then went back up to 1k.
After that it felt like my car was rev'ing a lot higher than what it should be for the speed i was goin.
IE, while in gear 1, going at 30/40 km/h my revs where the 3k/4k mark
and gear 2, going at 50km/h it was still around the 4k mark....
It also felt that it wasnt pulling my car at the rate it was supposed to.
Does anyone know what's wrong or encounterd the same problem?
Cheers
Tim

go to this site. it may help you determine what the problem may be
it also explains about ECU etc. go to the "FTO for Dummies" section. it's a handy site. good luck

And also if your car's idel is at 1k, that's very high..
Normal idel should be around the 600~700rpm.
You can set this.
Otherwise, it would be your stepper motor that may need cleaning as already been mentioned.
You didn't turn on the air cond or any thing?
I mean i guess it could be a number of things...
Like when did you change your engine oil and filter?
What mods do you have? it was just draining some power just at that time.
Is the problem still there? The car's still not going well?
etc..

Did you hear the fans turn on to cool your engine?
Sometimes they turn on when you come to a complete stop because there is insufficient air going in to cool it. When it does this, you will see a fluctuation in your revs.
