I love the styling of them, the aggressiveness is just one of the best in the industry. But the quality & ride are a bit behind compare to what other Euro cars got to offer for the same amount of money. And I never heard anything good with their service either.....
My neighbor had endless trouble every time they take their brand new Alfa to the dealer for a service, they even had the engine change after just 2mths cause of the mistake the dealership had made & they already changed two different dealerships too.
Don't know about Maserati V8 cause Maserati V8 are originated from Ferrari. So it would not be economical for the company to put one in a mass production car. But i do know the V6 is the same as the one you get in the Aussie made new Commondore & i think the new SAAB is sharing the turbo version too.
Dam did i mention i love the shape & styling.....

Well almost every brand in the world is owned or has close association with these 3 companies, GM, Ford & VW Group.
It’s really all about cross platform & cutting cost down.

yeah i think alfa has the best styling going around especially for cars under 100K. I love the 147 GTA - i think its the best looking hatch going around.
We have two alfas, a 2004 156 and a 147. Never had a problem with any servicing but the selespeed in the 147 is damn awful!
hear lots of complaints about their handling, and they do have terrible turning circles, but having said that the 156 has pretty good handling (but then again I havent driven an audi or bmw from the same year so nothing to compare to). Many of the premium platforms are now going to all wheel drive and they are apparently working on their suspension set ups, so it will be interesting to see how their ride and handling improve.
The 149 due in 2007 has some strange styling cues if any of you have seen the latest designs floating around.
Hahahaha don't worry Dav, not everyone is into Alfa. But by saying that not all Alfa are stunner too.
All the new GTA series are certainly on my list of top design Ohhh & the engine bay craftsmanship, there are no other mass production car company had put so much detail on their engine bay.

the brera is yet to launch here.... the 159 GTA hasnt even been done.
the 147 GTA (not pictured) had a 3.2 litre 6 and that was good for 0-100 in around 6 - 6.5 i think.
Auto delta in UK worked on the 147 and bored it to 3.7 litre and got it 0-100 in 5 seconds. Jeremy clark said it was the hottest hatch he has ever driven.
if the brera comes out with a v8 im tipping it will be pretty damn quick - low 5's....
