Yes its your starter motor or some mechanic called it stepper motor or idle speed motor.

I'm unsure whether I have a similar problem -

Today I was driving, the car at first seemed a bit sluggish but went okay after it warmed up. I was at a set of traffic lights, the music up (so I couldn't hear the engine) and the light goes green. I put my foot to the floor and nothing, the car just rolls back. I started the engine again and every time I took my foot off the accelerator the engine just dies. The battery and oil lights come on, but the battery is still fine because the stereo, power windows and aircon all still work. :(

Now I'm thinking my distributor has just packed it in, but I'm far from being an autoelectrician/mechanic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Gonna try and get the car home from the roadside tonight in first! Weeeee!

Try disconnect your battery for 30 mins then starting you car and leaving it alone for 15 minutes. just in your driveway. may take a couple of goes. Most likely problem is stepper motor. just underneath air intake. Fto steppers always fail. The battery reset will reset the ECU and force it to "learn" how to idle again. if still no luck. i'd say stepper.

you don't have a distributer...you have coil packs, 3 in total. These can die and need to be replaced and are quite expensive.

Well the car doesn't have a distributor

first thing I check with idle probs, is the tension in the throttle cable. It bolts to the back of the throttle body & came loosen up. Have a play with the return spring on the throttle body, ensure all is hooked & ok there. Then pull Stepper off - most of the time it can be solved purely by a good (yet gentle) clean. If still no good, replace the stepper. Other items it can be is the TPS unit.

You can tell when the stepper is shot, its primary function is to adjust engine idle speed under different environments - ie its adjusts the idle up on a cold start, hence your car idles high in the mornings till the motor temp is up. It also increases idle speed when you have the air con on. Air con increases the load on the motor & has to be compensated by adding more fuel in.

So if any of those functions arent being compensated (the idle is going up) then its most likely the stepper.

Thanks all mates advices but i found the problem is that the stepper too dirty.after clean it all be fine la.so if any guys have same problem .I think
(1)check all cables connect well (2)reset ecu (3)clean the stepper motor
