Mustang anyone?

And I mean the proper, 60's and 70's 'Stangs, not the overweight, sad imitations that they sell now.

And what about the Sierra? Or a rally Escort?

And there was another AWD Ford that I read about in Unique Cars once....it was good for 0-100 in a verified 2.4 seconds - from the factory! And it was road-registered....

Only made about 10 or something, just enough to homologate them.

I knew there was a couple I'd forgotten!!

67 Fastback Mustang was one of my favourites. I also saw one of the old Group A touring car Sierra's in the Bathurst motor museum - had a turbo the size of a basketball in it 8O

And yeah.. the good old eskys... I wanted to slam an FJ20 motor into an old Mk1 when I was a teen

Topgear have tested a few high power FWD's, they never fare to well in on road/track tests because although they have some good power their drivelines and chassis just can't handle it. Torque steers a bitch, and so is lift-off oversteer.

You mean RWD??

I know mate - I had an old shitbox sigma with a 400hp V8 in it. It used to stand up on on wheel when launching 8O Whenever dragging it, I had to line up at staging on an angle, so when it bit in, it would torque up to the right & straighten me up.

With a blow torch & a pair of pliers!

Nah, Fabricated some engine mounts, had to modify the cross member & sump a bit... we had to cut half the firewall out, custom cut drive shaft & upgraded the stock diff to a VL commondore diff. Wasn't to hard as the car was rear wheel drive originally.

Then again Chris, don't forget the Focus competes against the EVO in WRC.

My sister drives an auto 2.0l Focus and I took it out for a spin and did a pretty good job keeping up with an XR6. Man that guy was pissed off! Ha ha ha

How easy is it to wind up XR and Commodore drivers?

Ok out where I live it is........hehehe
