Personalised Rego

Well, I'll have to register the car in SA soon (moved from NSW) and want to get personalised or custom plates, but I cant think of anything cool to put on them.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
FYI: I have a silver 1995 GPX.
I'd prefer personalised over custom just on the money basis, but there are more colours for custom. I think Black letters on a Silver plate would look ok with a silver car...

Well, I can tell you that "FTO" is taken, because I work with the person who has it.
What about "MIVEC"? Oh wait - I've got that one....
Do you want custom or personalised? One is a one-off cost, the other is annual. But you have more colour and size options with custom.

OK, so now I know what I cant have ROFL
I still want suggestions to what I CAN have
I know the costs, and doesnt phase me either way really. I think the square ?? plates (300x150) would suit the body kit quite well, and black letters on silver plate, so that would mean custom.
Something like this...
Unless of course I can think of a personalised plate like FTO.095
Can you get personalised premium plates like in NSW ? I currently have FTO.01C from NSW.

I think you can have the personalised plates the same as in NSW. These are only a one-off fee too. I had a pamhplet somewhere with all the rules etc...
I used to have FTO-100 (came with the car).
A tip though - get square for the back, but NOT for the front. Way too boxy for where the plate goes. Get slimline instead - I was going to get square front and back, but luckily the guy at Transport SA actually knew what an FTO was and recommended that I didn't.
On the square plates you can have 6 in a single line, or 5 and 2. Cannot have 3 on the second line, even if it only comes to 7 letters. So you could have:
MIVEC
V6
8K REVS
I REV
FTOGPX
MIVEC-6 (would be 1-off fee only)
EFFTOH
If I think of others, I will let you know.

WOW square plates!!!, Seven characters!!! Why can't we do this is Victoria???
I've been racking my brain for the right plate myself but according to vplates.com.au I am only allowed 6 charaters max. Is this correct or am I missing something?

I have EFTEOH here in Darwin. Takes some people a while to figure out what it means. Oh and plates only cost $140 here.

Good call. I was thinking that too. The slim plates look good on the front, but the one currently on the back of my car has been "trimmed" to fit in.

OK, Not according to transport SA's website, I think you mis-interpreted...
"The square custom plate format for 7 digits is a
maximum of five on one line with the remaining 2 on the other line. "
http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/registra ... custom.asp
But still some good Ideas there...

Well, they arent really square, (300mm x 150mm) but look more suited to the car. I didnt know we could do 7 letters in SA either till I started researching... Maybe you can in Vic but dont know it ?
But if you cant, then, well, serves you right for pinching the F1GP... ROFL

Not wanting to be picky or anything, but:
The square custom plate format for 6 digits may be on one line.
