Bloody Burning Smell!!!

Post by payaya »

Hey all,

I have this burning rubber smell and i have no idea where is it coming from!!! Its clearly not a oil smell, so that rules out any oil related problems.

I've recently changed my belts so that is highly unlikely. Its not my brakes binding as its a rubber smell. Its not from me dirivng the car too hard!

Im stumped!

Please help!!!

Plastic bag stuck to something? Crawl under your car and have a looksee, you have no idea how common this is :P

Like a plastic shopping bag will get sucked underneath the car and stick to something hot, then burn for months producing a very bloody strong plastic smell.

I have had this same smell since i changed my belts. I've had it for about 6 months now. it is only a fain't smell now. I had the mechanic check everything and have had no problems. I'm pretty sure that it is caused by the new belts and is not something to be concerned about. (although i was pretty woried for the first month when the smell was kinda strong) :?
