Back in studying comp science in the uni, I did learn about programming CNC machines and robotic arms,
Cant remember much now but it was pretty easy to deal with.
You spend more time on the paper correcting the measurements then programming.
The rest is trial and error at the beginning.
It is amazing what you can do with these machines though.
You need very good quality needles (or what ever they called) and need to know the dimentions and strength of it

This is for "nacho", and anyone else that does not know what CNC means.

CNC
Computer Numerical Control.

basically you can input a drawing 2D or 3D and the machine will then cut the shape. The drawing part for me is easy. getting the machine to understand and make what i have drawn is just not working.

Hmmm.......maybe in conjunction with forged pistons, some cylinder sleeves can be fabricated using this machine?

Well the term 'forging' is a different method of producing things. That is usually done with molten steel run into casts and put under extreme pressure.

A CNC would then be deployed to fine tune a forged product - for instance get the critically accurate shape across the top of the piston etc

Its basically a robot machinist... a 3D metal etch-a-sketch

Having said that you can turn out just about anything you could imagine on a CNC. Get yourself a couple of billets of the material you want & go for it!

Actually I didn't mean the pistons. I should have worded that better. I meant if we got bigger pistons for some reason then he can make us the resized cylinder sleeves.......

Or he could just make us some dash plates......hehehe

I would buy them on group buy you but you haven't replied to my PM yet ben...... :(
