car is idling way to high

Was 3 days ago my car started idling at 2500rpm when it normaly idles at less then 1000rpm.

i tried reseting everything via disconecting the battery and even had a play with the accellerator wire but didnt solve anything.

anyone with any help on this please? saves me taking it to a mechanic.

Do a search (using the button above the forum not the one to the left) for idle problems. You'll find numerous threads & with the same problem & resolutions.

in drive as well its at 2k? Turn the idle down a bit via the idle screw on the throttle body.

Do you have cold start problems?

When you turn on the AC does the revs drop or rise?
