Brake Proportioning Valve
Anyone ever had any issues with this valve? My front left is locking when I brake hard. I have changed the pads and even put another disc on but still locks. Have not got the gear to do a test on the valve but I suspect its letting the front left have too much pressure. Are they fixable or is it a replacement job ?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi Craig, apologies for the delay replying to your email. Found a way to post up the brake diagrams for all to see
Ok, its the part with the red square around it. The layout shown is about right, the biggest issue with swapping it out is actually getting at it. Its mounted on the firewall - smack bang in the middle. You'd have to either pull your intake manifold off or get at it from underneath.

Also note - the number indicated in the picture is NOT the part number. If you can tell me your chassis number (Ie HNHM, HRHM etc etc) I can give you the correct part number - as there were different types on different models.
As with most Hydraulic valves, chances are you could reco it, but being such a small unit & being part of the brake system, I'd just swap it out. It couldn't be that expensive. Give Peter at Kempys a call seeing as your in NZ (09) 295 0088
