air bag will only go off if the hit is from the front bumper. or where ever the sensor thing is. all i know is that they cost 900$ to get re gassed and put back inStar_Lancer wrote:i havent found airbags to be useful in my experience.

There is no guarantee the damn things will go off when they are needed. The driver who ran up the back of me doing 60km/h was driving a brand new Falcon. Totalled the front of her car but her airbag never went off. She didnt hit me at an angle either, smack bang in the middle and without breaking before she hit.... So airbags, shmairbags!

ah ok . but the reason it never went of cos the hit was not bigenough.
if it was say 80- 100kmh. then it would of went off.airbags r designed to save your life, if in a huge accident. but not minor. it would cost a fortune if u have had 2-3 hits a year. thats 1 prob reason . the other prob malfunctioned dunno
i sure would love to hit my head in an airbag than the front screen with glass shatterin in my face in a big crash.

Yes its good to have it, & I don't think we can doubt its safety when accident happen but how many people here & future buyer of FTO would consider to pay more because it got an extra passenger air-bag?
I think when someone buying a 10yrs old low price sports car, passenger air-bag becomes irrelevant. Most people would consider to pay more for a well maintained FTO rather then a feature they hope they will never use. But yes it’s a bonus to have it.
