unlearning the safc

Post by efteoh »

as most of you guys know allready, the FTO's ECU can "adapt" and learn. so it can advance the time/retard it, etc. so if we use poor fuel (compard to jap fuel) it can adjust accordingly. now my question is, if the ecu can do all that, wont it "unmod" what teh piggyback safc will do? i know this statement pretty much throws out the use of a piggy back unit. and i know a lot of you guys are running a piggy back unit, and it obviously has t do something.

any constructive comments are welcome :)

No because the piggy back ecu is tricking the mitsi ecu into thinking it's running as it should.

true, but that only applies to the airflow and fuel, but wont the mitsu ecu cross reference it with somthing like the air pressure and/or engine rpm or other sensors to figure that soething isnt quite right? im pretty sure they work, im just a little confused for some reason

The SAFC also monitor the air pressure & RPM, so the answer are same as mr_bishi

Download the menu from Apexi, & you understand how it actually work, & what it actually monitor (tricking) for the ecu. :D
